Makeup Adventures: 2nd Sem to April

After this will be a compilation of cosmetics-related adventures for the past months
----------

During the second semester, I've been able to accumulate make-up related stuff and decided to write up on them.

3D Princess Mask: Red Wine

I bought this for P98.00 in Etude House. I forgot to take pictures of the before and after affect but I hardly saw any difference.

The mask was folder into 4 and was coated with the formula already so I did what the instructions asked at the back and put it on, fitting it onto my face and left it there for the period of time the sachet instructed. During the process, it felt cool and soothing and after using, my face felt better but I hardly saw any difference in the mirror.

Missing U Hand Cream #3 Cerulean Warbler Story

So! At some point, I felt so conscious of my skin and I kept seeing my sister carry around a hand lotion similar to this and I fell in love with the packaging, tbh. It's so adorable and it smells good! It's supposed to smell like cotton candy but to me it's more of a baby powder scent~ It still moisturizes my hands for an hour or so and makes my hands feel so smooth
= u =

Angled Foundation Brush and Beauty Blender

At some point within the 2nd semester, I watched Kandee Johnson use the Beauty Blender in one of her videos and I saw one for P500.00 in Suesh Cosmetics and P300.00 in Nyx stall in Trinoma's Pop Culture (2nd floor, near Starbucks and Jellybean)

I barely use the Beauty Blender but, as Kandee said, it's able to reach narrower places with the tip. Downside? When I use it with my liquid foundations, the finish of the look on my face would be a bit flaky upon inspection. Also, I tend to use too much foundation when using this.

The angled foundation brush was acquired from Landmark! The beauty section in the ground floor sells a bunch of brushes and since I wasn't satisfied with the beauty blender and I'm not too fond of the generic foundation brush in my Suesh brush set, I bought this one for less then P200. The hair is really soft and the liquid foundation easily clings and applies onto skin. I def recommend using this one.

Ever Bilena: Blush Me! bronzing powder

I was waiting for mom to finish buying her meds from OTC in Mercury Drug and I was looking for facial washes when I came across this. Having never possessed bronzing powders, I decided to check this out. It was barely P200 if I'm not mistaken.

Upon separating the parts, I noticed that it was hard to twist and untwist the body, and in the process of untwisting the powder scatters a bit even when I was being very careful.

The powder is highly pigmented and for some reason very crumby and rough in texture. When I dipped the brush very lightly into the container of powder, it already gathered too much, as seen in the photo above. So I attempted to put it on my hand but it practically colored my whole fist so I washed it off and dipped the brush onto the edge of the bottle.

This is the result of the 2nd try and, yes, HIGHLY pigmented but I really am no fond of the color. Other than having difficulty putting it on, the color doesn't really blend well. And I had a very hard time scrubbing the color off.

ALSO! Very VERY messy! There are tons of specks of the powder on my pink tanktop and a lot fell onto my makeup case so I had to wipe the entire side.

Etude Kissful Lip Care concealer

I absolutely ADORE this. I've been looking for this for ages until finally just this April 19, it was back on the shelves and got it for P198.00.

So this is the before look

This is the after! AHAHA yay it matches my skin tone~ I tried it out with several lipsticks and the color shows more evidently, in my opinion, thanks to this!

Wet n Wild Megaslicks Lip Gloss: 578 Sinless

Maybelline Baby Lips Color: Pink Lolita & Berry Crush

I've tried the Wet n Wild one just before writing this review and I'm not fond of how it turned out. I love the smell but the color was a bit too wild (and I didn't really know it would be THAT party-ish haha oops) but still, for P200, it's good for me~ Just need an occasion where I can wear this one.

The lip balms do a great job of moisturizing! I forgot how much they are but I love using them when I need a splash of color on my face when going out for little tasks.

Urban Decay: Naked Basics

I love my sister for getting this on my birthday. She asked her best friend/ex boyfriend who lives in Singapore to buy this from their Sephora branch and ship it to her. And I absolutely ADORE this palette.

Shades on arm from L to R: Venus, Foxy, W.O.S, Naked 2, Faint, Crave

I've gotten around to using the middle tone (W.O.S) for my everyday makeup look with another shade from my Naked Palette 1. The shades from the Basics palette are extremely blendable and pigmented.

Ultima II WonderWear Eyecolor Duet

My aunt and my sister hosted a trivia during their birthday and I got this as a prize in my sister's birthday trivia.

Shades from L to R: Wonder Sand, Wonder Taupe

I haven't really gotten around to using this particular duo but I love the Sand shade for everyday looks.

Elf Beauty School 32 Piece Eyeshadow Palette Volume 1

For my birthday, I got this from my Aunt Chi (along with cash HEHEHE). I love the shades. Half are matte, the other half are shimmery. One can create everyday to dramatic looks using this palette and I look forward to using this the next occasion we have.

Hanskin BB Cream #1 Bright Skin Tone

So my Aunt Ruby, who is planning on bringing Hanskin here in the Philippines, got me this for my birthday.

(Sorry about the rotated photos)

I am happy with the results! It's very blendable and it matches my skin tone. It takes a small drop to cover this side of my fist and it gives light coverage, as all BB creams do. It is probably ideal for everyday looks.

L'oreal Lucent Magique Light-Infusing Foundation: R2 Rose Porcelain

Since I still had a problem with my True Match foundation (it still looked a bit flaky on my skin), I decided to try this one out. I loved the effect when I used the tester so I got this for P845 at Watsons.

Like the True Match, the pump is easy to use (although the pump of the True Match is a lot better) and the formula easily blends onto skin and brightens it. A tiny amount can give light to medium coverage, but the coverage of this one is considerably less than the coverage True Match can provide.

When I used it last Saturday, my skin felt absolutely smooth after application and my face looked considerably brighter. The skin tone match of the True Match foundation is better, though (the shade of this one might be a step lighter than mine). Also, this doesn't last as long as the True Match does. My True Match survived through a really hot day in school so I was sweating the whole day and there was still a bit of coverage after use. Lucent Magique didn't survive throughout the 6 hours of sweaty shopping in MOA.

Nyx Retractable Eye Liner 02 Black

I previously made a review about the white version of this one that I use on my waterline. So I bought one from the Nyx stall in Trinoma (2nd Floor in Pop Culture). I absolutely adore the liner. It lasts really long and it only melts after a few hours. I use this one whenever I'm in a hurry

Etude Drawing Show Brush Liner Black

A recent acquisition! And I adore it so much. It's the best liquid liner I've had so far. P498 (which makes it cheapest liquid liner so far). I wore it last Saturday and it was exceedingly hot in MOA and in F21. I was sweating so much and I was afraid my eye makeup melted and made me look Panda-ish when, it turns out, the liner remained intact! Despite the heat and the sweating, my cat-eye didn't melt!

So this liner survived 6 hours without melting. The brush can make really thin precise strokes (as shown by my writing). Barrel can be easily handled. Very reasonable price. Def recommend this one.

Lipstick

After this will be a review of some sorts of all the lipstick in my current make-up collection.
----------

(from left to right pic 1, bottom to top pic 2)
Maybelline A60 Windsor Rose
Mary Kay 9069 Cantaloupe
Prestige Lightshine 06 Elba
Palladio Surely Pink
Revlon Colorstay 295 Satin Rosewood
Revlon Creme 525 Wine With Everything
Revlon Creme 668 Primrose
Revlon Matte 012 Sky Pink
Revlon Creme 125 Nude Velvet
Revlon Colorburst 096 Petal
Revlon Colorburst Lipbutter 055 Cupcake

----------

I can barely tell differences in brands since all of them serve their purpose. I will probably just recommend the ones I use most.
Revlon Colorburst Petal is the one I used for everyday since it was somewhat near the natural color of my lips and it just brightened or colored it up a bit. Like the rest of my lipsticks, it didn’t last long and immediately got wiped out when I eat or drink.
The Maybelline Windsor Rose doesn’t entirely disappear, actually! When I put it on, people insist it emphasizes my whiteness since it’s a bolder shade of dark pink. Also, even after you eat or drink, it stains! So I actually really recommend this one if you want something to last.
Palladio Surely Pink is also cute and is my next in line when the 2 above don’t match the look I aim for. It’s also mostly used for my everyday looks. Like the 2 above, it goes on smoothly and it smells good and sweet actually.
What I DON’T recommend? Well, for people with chapped lips like mine and those who don’t prefer matte lipsticks, I don’t recommend the Revlon Matte Sky Pink! Well, I LOVE the color I really do but it totally sucks that I can’t wear it. With this horrible warm weather all the time, my lips chap all the time so when I put this lipstick on, it looks horrible. Beautiful bright barbie pink but, sadly, unsuitable for people with chapped lips.
I love the quality of the rest, especially the revlon lip butter (but I’m not fond of the shade so I barely use it).

Foundation

After this will be a review of some sorts of all the foundation in my current make-up collection.
----------

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Light 1 Porcelain Ivory

Revlon Photoready Airbrush 010 Vanilla
L’oreal le teint True Match N1 Nude Ivory
Revlon Colorstay Whipped 150 Buff Chamois
 ----------

The before look

 ----------

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Light 1 Porcelain Ivory

Light coverage. Matte finish. Easily blends! And it takes a little to cover a huge portion of the face! The shade is too fleshy and probably lighter than my skintone BUT it brightens my face that way and doesn’t look too awkward. Cost me around $10.

Revlon Photoready Airbrush 010 Vanilla

The Revlon Airbrush is VERY hard to press (a minus) and comes out bubbly. It spreads well (a plus!) but it has a very very shiny finish. It gives a Medium coverage. It’s a bit pricey (around P945).

L’oreal le teint True Match N1 Nude Ivory
This L’oreal true match, as the bottle says, is VERY blendable! Also it’s easy to pump the foundation out, and you only need a small amount to cover a huge area. Coverage varies from light to heavy, depending on how you apply it and how many layers. This matches my skin best. I noticed that when applied using sponge, foundation tends to get flaky.

Revlon Colorstay Whipped 150 Buff Chamois

The Revlon whip. I love how it blends easily to my skin and that it actually doesn’t dry too fast so  I still have the chance to blend more. Coverage is medium to very heavy. Downside? after it HAS dried, sure it stays on a LONG time but my face feels too stretched and sticky so the effect after, though flawless looking, is uncomfortable. If, perchance, it gets dabbed with any line or mistake, it is VERY hard to wipe it off and might have to use wet tissue or makeup remover.
