Base, BB Cream, Foundation, Pressed Powder, and Loose Powder

This will be a masterpost of base products, bb creams, liquid foundation, pressed powder, loose powder, and other face products.

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Cafe Breve Loose Mineral Powder Foundation

Ellana is becoming more and more famous and I even saw the re-launching they were shooting in The Ramp Crossings in Trinoma. I got curious after my friend Ella recommended their foundation and decided perhaps I should try it out.

Location and Price
Ellana is available in The Ramp Crossings Trinoma. This cost me P460.00 if I'm not mistaken?

Packaging (+ Applicator)
It was hard to pull out the cover of the foundation at first and of course it'll be a bit messy if you aren't careful. There's a small hole and you can peel back the tape so the powder exits that way. There's no applicator for this powder foundation.

Formula, Coverage, and Blending
The powder is very smooth and fine. It gives a light coverage but I think it can be built up to a medium coverage. The powder can be easily blended.

Finish and Wearing Time
The finish is  matte.
For wearing time, I wore this today and it was quite warm and I wore it from 10:30 and when I checked at around 12, still very intact despite heat! Around 4, I checked my face was getting oily and stuff and my makeup's sorta melted and I re-applied a good layer of this alone and it stayed and my face didn't oil again until 7! In the punishing Philippine summer heat though, it can't last 4 hours since I sweat a lot.

Etude House Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base 03 Peach

 Location and Price
Baby Choux is available in all Etude House outlets. If I'm not mistaken, both cost P628.00

Packaging (+ Applicator)
For the bottle version, there was this applicator you can use to scoop out the formula but I chose to just lightly dip my brushes into the pot. The jar can easily be twisted to open and close so there's no difficulty in using it.

The tube version is actually very convenient. It's not hard to twist to the cap, and when you squeeze out the formula, it comes in small amounts so you won't overuse.

Formula, Coverage, and Blending
The formula smells heavenly. Smells very fruity, actually. The formula has a nice consistency, and it cancels out most of the redness. A pea size amount will be enough to cover my entire cheek area and give it a medium coverage. Coverage varies depending on how much you put, from light to medium coverage. The formula blends nicely. The picture below is showing the light coverage of the baby choux.

And the picture below the two swatches shows the not made-up (left side) and made up with baby choux (right side).

Finish and Wearing Time
The finish is a bit dewy and takes a bit of time before it sets finally on the face. I use this as a base and it usually survives 6-8 hours of wearing in normal Philippine weather.

Hanskin BB Cream #1 Bright Skin Tone

Location and Price
My aunt had this in hand and I am unsure where she found this and how much it cost.

Packaging (+ Applicator)
The small tube is easy to use. It's convenient for travelling and it's easy to squeeze out the formula bit by bit so as to not overuse.

Formula, Coverage, and Blending
The formula has light coverage and easily blends when I use it.

Finish and Wearing Time
Somewhat dewy finish and lasts for around 3-5 hrs when worn alone but I usually use it as a base and it gives nice results when I use this as base and L'oreal True Match as my foundation.

L'oreal Lucent Magique Light-Infusing Foundation R2 Rose Porcelain

Location and Price
Available in all Department Stores and Watsons outlets. It's a bit pricy at P845.00

Packaging (+ Applicator)
The bottle is a bit heavy and the pump is somewhat easy to use. A pump is enough to cover most of my face.

Formula, Coverage, and Blending
The formula has less heavy consistency than Baby Choux and also the True Match foundation. The formula has light (and can be built up) to heavy coverage. The formula can be easily blended.

Finish and Wearing Time
The finish is very very dewy and shiny. Some people use this line of L'oreal as highlighter and I agree since the finish has this shine and brightness. It lasts around 5-6 hours and can last longer depending on coverage.

L'oreal le Teint True Match N1 Nude Ivory

Location and Price
Available at all L'oreal outlets in Watsons or Department Stores.

Packaging (+ Applicator)
The bottle is not as heavy as the Lucent Magique and the pump is easier to use. The pump is more sensitive to pressure so a very gentle press can give you a small amount of formula, making it easier to save the product to be used.

Formula, Coverage, and Blending
The formula is more consistent than the Lucent Magique but very very blendable and can be built up from light to heavy coverage. And an upside of L'oreal, I think, is that it has a nice range of colors to choose from.

Finish and Wearing Time
The finish is a bit dewy, sometimes it actually looks a bit matte. It can last 5-6 hours when I wear it but building up the coverage lets it last longer.

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Light 1 Porcelain Ivory

Location and Price
I think they discontinued this? There's still a mousse in Maybelline but not the exact same thing. I got this for around $10.00 in Walgreens during '12.

Packaging (+ Applicator)
It's easy to screw it open and close.

Formula, Coverage, and Blending
The formula is very fluffy and gives light coverage. The formula easily blends too. The problem with this is it somewhat clumps? It has a weird consistency after a year or two.

Finish and Wearing Time
Finish is very matte and it lasts 3-4 hours in normal Philippine weather.

RCMA No-Color Powder

Location and Price
RCMA is available in Pop Culture for P750.00. I'm not sure if it's also available in Pure Beauty for the same price.

Packaging (+ Applicator)
I usually twist the cap off and use the cap as a container where I can dip my brush into so that I don't use too much if I dip straight in the bottle.

Formula, Blending, and Finish
The powder is very smooth and fine. it sets the makeup nicely and gives a matte finish.

Revlon Colorstay Whipped 150 Buff Chamois

 Location and Price
Available in all Revlon outlets in Watsons or Department Stores.

Packaging (+ Applicator)
The pot is heavy, like the Lucent Magique. It's easy to twist the cap but with this type of packaging, it's hard to not overuse products so sometimes I am forced to use my fingers to apply so I can more easily control the product I get.

Formula, Coverage, and Blending
The formula has thick consistency and easily gives medium to heavy coverage. Upon application, the formula can easily blend and spread out and it takes some time for the formula to set.
Finish and Wearing Time
After the formula has set, the finish is a bit dewy and it feels hard on the face. The face feels sticky afterwards.

Revlon Photoready Airbrush 010 Vanilla

Location and Price
Available in all Revlon outlets in Watsons and Department Stores.

Packaging (+ Applicator)
The bottle is light which is a plus but the pump is VERY hard to press. A pump produces the huge bubbly foam below.

Formula, Coverage, and Blending
The formula is light and gives a light to heavy coverage depending on how you build it up, and the formula can easily be blended.

Finish and Wearing Time
The finish is dewy and shiny and can last 5-6 hours in Philippine weather.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed powder 001 Transparent

Location and Price
My sister bought this for me when she was in the US.

Packaging (+ Applicator)
There's no applicator and no mirror and the packaging is simple.

Formula, Blending, and Finish
The powder is very smooth and fine. it sets the makeup nicely and gives a matte finish.
